Plan for Tomorrow - Today

An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) from North Star Community Credit Union helps you save for your future with confidence. Whether you're just starting out or nearing retirement, an IRA offers tax-advantaged growth and peace of mind as you build a more secure financial future.

IRA Options

North Star Community Credit Union offers three types of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) to meet a range of retirement and education savings needs: Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, and Educational Savings Account.

Members may open an IRA Share Certificate with a minimum deposit of $500. IRA Share Certificates are subject to the same terms and conditions as standard share certificates, including maturity options and dividend structures.

Start with an IRA Share Account to make incremental contributions until you reach the $500 minimum required to open a certificate.

  • Dividends on IRA Share Certificates are calculated and paid quarterly, and at maturity, and are compounded by being added to the principal balance.

  • Early withdrawals from IRA Share Certificates are subject to an early withdrawal penalty, in accordance with credit union policy and applicable IRS regulations.

Members are responsible for understanding IRA contribution limits, income eligibility, and potential tax implications. Please consult a tax advisor for guidance on which IRA type best suits your individual situation.
